Philodendron bicolor is a species from the warm, humid rainforests of South America. It is recognized for its elongated, arrow-shaped foliage and pronounced color contrast. New leaves emerge in deep bronze to reddish-brown tones, with veins and undersides carrying rich red coloration that gradually deepens as the foliage expands. As the leaves mature, the upper surface transitions to a saturated green while retaining darker undertones beneath. The plant grows with an upright to lightly climbing habit and remains manageable in cultivation, making it well suited for pots or supported growth. It performs best in bright, indirect light with warm temperatures, moderate to high humidity, and evenly moist, well-draining media that supports steady, healthy growth.
Highly variegated leaves are prone to browning and may be more vulnerable during the shipping process.
