Alocasia ‘Black Velvet’ Gold Variegated is a rare variegated form of the compact Black Velvet–type Alocasia, known for its dark, velvety foliage contrasted with warm golden variegation. The thick, suede-like leaves are deep charcoal to near-black with pronounced pale veins that give the plant a bold, graphic appearance. Gold variegation appears as irregular marbling, splashes, or sectoral patches in tones of soft yellow to buttery gold, creating strong contrast across the leaf surface. This cultivar stays compact, forming a tight clump with short, sturdy petioles and thick, sculptural leaves. Best grown in bright, indirect light with evenly moist, well-draining soil, warm temperatures, and high humidity.
