Anthurium papillilaminum × rugulosum (‘Canal Queen’) is a cultivated hybrid created by Jay Vannini, a respected Anthurium grower and hybridizer known for producing intentionally bred, well-documented crosses for collectors. This hybrid combines the velvety leaf texture and elegant form of papillilaminum with the heavier substance and vein definition of rugulosum. The leaves are broad and dark with pronounced venation and subtle surface texture that becomes more defined as the plant matures. It has a compact to intermediate growth habit and grows best in bright, indirect light with high humidity and evenly moist, well-draining soil to support consistent leaf development.
