Alocasia Emerald Tide (also widely known as Alocasia Frydek Tattoo) is a rare mutant cultivar of Alocasia micholitziana Green Velvet prized for its highly unusual texture and underside markings. Unlike a standard Frydek, this selection develops deeply undulating, ruffled leaf margins and an embossed, uneven surface that gives the foliage a sculpted appearance. Its most distinctive feature appears on the abaxial (underside) of the leaf, where irregular pigmentation and mottling form unique, tattoo-like markings between the veins. The leaves retain a rich emerald-green tone and strong venation while expressing this uncommon textural mutation. This cultivar has a compact, upright growth habit and grows best in bright, indirect light with evenly moist, well-draining soil and warm, stable conditions.
