Alocasia ‘Uhinkii’ variegated (formerly circulated as Alocasia wentii variegated) is an unusual, collector-selected form valued for its broad, leathery leaves marked with irregular cream, pale yellow, and soft green marbling. The foliage carries a subtle metallic sheen on mature leaves, with contrasting venation that becomes more pronounced as the plant establishes. Growth is upright with a strong petiole structure, gradually forming a sculptural clump over time. Each leaf emerges with its own variegation pattern, ranging from fine speckling to larger sectoral patches. It performs best in bright, indirect light to support stable coloration, a well-aerated but consistently lightly moist substrate, and warm, humid conditions typical of tropical understory environments.
Highly variegated leaves are prone to browning and may be more vulnerable during the shipping process. Alocasia grow new leaves and drop old leaves more frequently than other plants.
