Hoya linearis is a distinctive epiphytic Hoya species native to the high-altitude Himalayan regions of India, Nepal, and China. Often called the Wax Vine or Porcelain Vine, it is prized for its curtain-like growth habit, producing long, cascading stems lined with narrow, softly textured leaves that can reach up to 6 feet (2 meters) in length. Unlike many tropical Hoyas, Hoya linearis prefers cooler temperatures, bright indirect light, good air circulation, and a well-draining medium kept lightly moist. It is considered non-toxic and generally safe for pets, though the milky sap may cause mild skin irritation in sensitive individuals.
