Scindapsus pictus ‘Apolaki’ (variegated) is a rare cultivated form of Scindapsus pictus selected for its high-contrast variegation and refined foliage pattern. The thick, matte, heart-shaped leaves display a deep green base with the species’ characteristic silver mottling, overlaid with creamy white to pale yellow variegation caused by reduced chlorophyll. Variegation may appear marbled or sectoral and can vary from leaf to leaf, with stronger patterns developing under bright, indirect light.
This plant exhibits a vining growth habit and can be grown trailing or allowed to climb with support, producing larger leaves as it matures. It grows best in bright, indirect light with evenly moist, well-draining soil, warm temperatures, and moderate to high humidity. Consistent conditions and good air circulation help maintain foliage health and stable variegation.
