Philodendron sp. ‘El Choco Red’ is a species-form philodendron native to the Chocó region of Colombia, known for its velvety texture and elegant leaf shape. The broad, heart-shaped leaves are deep green with a plush surface, while new growth emerges in rich coppery red tones with brown-toned veins that gradually soften and darken as the leaves mature.
It has a climbing growth habit with moderate internodes and benefits from vertical support to achieve mature leaf size. The plant grows best in bright, indirect light with warm conditions, high humidity, and evenly moist, well-draining media.
