Goodyera hispida is a jewel orchid species known for its lance-shaped foliage and intricate silver and gold venation. The leaves feature a matte, dark olive surface with a high-contrast network of white and warm gold veins. The name hispida—meaning "bristly"—refers to the fine hairs found on its stems and flower spikes. This species produces upright flower spikes with small, crystalline blooms covered in soft hairs, giving them a frosted appearance. It has a slow, tidy creeping habit and is ideal for terrariums, where high humidity and stable conditions can be maintained. It grows best in low to medium indirect light and a moisture-retentive, airy substrate.
