Alocasia baginda is a compact aroid from the limestone karst forests of Borneo, prized for the deeply quilted, silvery green foliage that gives the species its common "dragon scale" nickname, the corrugated leaf surface reading almost reptilian against the dark venation. In this albo variegated form, that texture is overlaid with irregular sectors of white and cream, ranging from light speckling to leaves that emerge nearly solid white before hints of the scaled texture reassert themselves across the blade. This is the kind of mutation that never repeats exactly from leaf to leaf, part of what makes each new leaf worth watching for as it unfurls. In its native habitat, baginda grows low to the ground in dense, humid understory, tucked into limestone crevices and leaf litter, conditions it takes well to in a humid grow space or terrarium setup. RPF's plants are propagated from a single mother line through both tissue culture and corm division, giving consistent access to this variegation without relying on chance seedlings. Grown in soil rather than semi-hydro, it prefers bright indirect light and a chunky, well-draining aroid mix that dries slightly between waterings.
