Alocasia baginda ‘Dragon Scale’ Aurea is a variegated selection of Alocasia baginda distinguished by its thick, heavily textured foliage and irregular golden-yellow variegation. The heart-shaped leaves display pronounced deep green venation over a lighter green surface, creating the characteristic "dragon scale" texture for which the species is known. Aurea variegation appears as splashes, marbling, or larger sectors of yellow, with each leaf developing its own unique pattern. As the plant matures, the foliage becomes increasingly substantial, and the raised venation and contrasting coloration become more defined. Like other Alocasia, it grows best in bright, indirect light, consistent moisture, and a chunky, well-draining substrate, allowing the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings.
