Alocasia longiloba variegated is a striking tropical aroid valued for its elongated, arrow-shaped leaves marked with a mix of deep green, silvery tones, and unpredictable cream to pale yellow variegation. The foliage has a subtle metallic sheen, with pronounced venation that gives each leaf a sculpted, architectural appearance. Variegation can appear as fine marbling, streaks, or larger sectoral patches, making each new leaf distinct from the last. As it matures, the plant develops a more upright, elegant structure with stronger petioles supporting increasingly larger leaves. It thrives in bright, indirect light to stabilize its coloration, a warm and humid environment, and a loose, well-aerated substrate that stays lightly moist but never heavy.
Highly variegated leaves are prone to browning and may be more vulnerable during the shipping process. Alocasia grow new leaves and drop old leaves more frequently than other plants.
