Alocasia ‘Uhinkii’ Albo/Pink Variegated is a rare and highly desirable hybrid correctly known as Alocasia ‘Uhinkii’, and was previously misidentified in horticulture as a variegated form of Alocasia wentii. It is prized for its dramatic, shield shaped foliage with unpredictable splashes of creamy white and soft blush pink variegation over deep green leaves, making every plant truly one of a kind. The broad, heart shaped leaves can grow quite large and feature a rich violet brown to purple underside, even on non variegated portions. Alocasia ‘Uhinkii’ is an old historic hybrid dating back to around 1897, created from a cross between Alocasia cuprea and Alocasia odora.
