Monstera deliciosa ‘Hurricane’ is a rare cultivated form recognized for its unusually distorted foliage and irregular fenestration. Unlike typical deliciosa, the leaves can emerge with pronounced twisting, rippling, and asymmetrical growth, with margins that curl and fold as the foliage develops. Juvenile leaves may appear particularly irregular, while mature leaves retain much of this unusual distortion, creating a naturally windswept appearance that gives each leaf its own character.

As the plant matures, the foliage becomes larger and develops more defined fenestrations while retaining its characteristic warping and curled sections. It grows as a climbing Monstera and benefits from vertical support as the leaves increase in size. ‘Hurricane’ performs best in bright, indirect light, warm stable temperatures, elevated humidity, and evenly moist but well-draining, well-aerated soil. Consistent growing conditions encourage healthy new foliage while allowing its unusual leaf form to become increasingly pronounced.
