Oxalis triangularis variegated is a compact, bulbous perennial prized for its delicate, butterfly-like purple to deep burgundy leaves patterned with soft cream, pink, or pale green variegation that shifts with light and time of day. Each trifoliate leaf folds at night and reopens with daylight, giving the plant a subtle sense of movement throughout its growth cycle. In season, it may produce small pale lavender to white flowers that rise above the foliage, adding a light contrast to the rich leaf tones. It grows best in bright, indirect light (or gentle morning sun), a well-draining but lightly moist soil mix during active growth, and a cooler dormancy period where watering is reduced to allow the bulbs to rest.
Highly variegated leaves are prone to browning and may be more vulnerable during the shipping process.
