Philodendron erubescens ‘Scarlet Princess’ is a cultivated selection known for its combination of deep green foliage, red coloration, and creamy variegation. Young leaves emerge smaller with soft green to reddish tones, often showing subtle cream or mint markings that become more defined as the plant establishes. With maturity, the foliage develops greater size and substance, revealing deeper green leaves with rich red flushing and veining alongside increasingly pronounced areas of variegation.

The variegation can develop as marbling, sectoral patches, and irregular areas across the leaf blade, with each new leaf expressing its own balance of green, cream, and red. Its upright growth habit and changing coloration give the plant a distinct appearance as it matures. ‘Scarlet Princess’ performs best in bright, indirect light, warm stable temperatures, elevated humidity, and evenly moist, well-aerated soil. Consistent light supports strong coloration and healthy variegated growth while stable conditions encourage continued leaf production.
