Philodendron squamiferum variegated is a rare variegated form of Philodendron squamiferum, best known for its distinctive red, bristly petioles and lobed leaf shape. The foliage has a medium to deep green base with irregular cream to pale yellow variegation caused by reduced chlorophyll, appearing as marbling or sectoral patches that vary from leaf to leaf. As the plant matures, the leaves become more deeply lobed while retaining the species’ signature textured petioles. This philodendron has a climbing growth habit and benefits from vertical support, growing best in bright, indirect light with evenly moist, well-draining soil and warm, stable conditions.
