Philodendron ‘Summer Glory’ is a celebrated hybrid prized for its large, glossy foliage and dramatic color shifts, originally bred as a cross between Philodendron gloriosum and Philodendron McColley’s Finale. The hybrid was created by LariAnn Garner, founder and Research Director of Aroidia Research, as part of her work developing more ornamental and resilient aroid hybrids. In its standard form, new leaves emerge in rich copper and bronze tones before maturing into deep green, giving the plant its signature “summer glow.”

Philodendron ‘Summer Glory’ Variegated is an exceptionally rare mutation of this already iconic hybrid, with only a very small number of plants known to exist in cultivation worldwide. This form displays creamy to pale yellow variegation layered over the glossy foliage, with patterns that vary from leaf to leaf. Rare Plant Fairy is one of the very few nurseries globally with this variegated form growing in-house, making it a true unicorn for advanced collectors.
