Pinguicula 'Guatemala' forms compact, neat rosettes of fleshy, pale green leaves coated in tiny glandular hairs that trap small insects. Under intense lighting, the leaf margins often take on subtle pink or bronze hues. Like many Mexican butterworts, it is heterophyllous, alternating between an active carnivorous form in warm, wet periods and a tighter, succulent rosette during drier winter conditions. Provide bright indirect light to gentle morning sun, and use only pure, low-mineral water such as reverse osmosis, distilled, or rainwater to keep the mix damp during active growth.
