Aroid Chunky is built for root systems that want speed and airflow more than moisture retention. It runs two parts large-grade bark (9 to 18mm chunks) to one part a peat-based base blended with coarse perlite, a Bacillus biofungicide, mycorrhizae, a wetting agent, and ground limestone and dolomite for pH buffering. The bark-heavy ratio keeps large air gaps between chunks even after the peat component settles, which suits thick-rooted aroids and mature specimens that rot quickly in anything denser, along with growers who water often and need the mix to dry fast between sessions.
